Nine Austin companies made Inc. magazine's annual list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies, one barometer of the city's entrepreneurial spirit. And 19 made Deloitte & Touche's list of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Texas.

Austin accounted for almost a third of the Texas listings on the Inc. list, which ranks companies based on three-year sales growth.

The companies aren't large. The highest-ranked Austin company, nFusion Group LLC, has 62 employees and revenue last year of $22.9 million. Coast to Coast Tickets has 32 workers and revenue of $8.7 million.

But to make this list, what matters is how quickly that revenue has been growing. For nFusion, the answer was 922 percent over three years; Coast to Coast said its sales rose 915.4 percent in that period.
