Deloitte & Touche Reveals Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Texas
Winners Experienced Average Revenue Growth of 1,124 Percent
DALLAS, Sept. 8, 2004 - The fastest growing technology companies in Texas were announced today by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. The Texas Crescent Technology Fast 50 is the only awards program that ranks technology companies located throughout Texas by revenue growth over a five-year period. The Fast 50 program is presented by Deloitte & Touche, in association with Haynes and Boone, NASDAQ and Comerica Bank.
"While the current economy is taking its toll on technology companies across all industries, there are companies in Texas that have shown strong signs of stability and growth," said Skip Moore, Regional Managing Partner for the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group at Deloitte. "We salute these companies for their resiliency in the face of tough times, as well as their ability to adapt to the changing marketplace."
Topping the list is NetQoS, Inc. of Austin with a revenue growth rate of 9,400 percent over five years. NetQoS is a provider of network performance products and services. Founded in 1999, the company analyzes and optimizes the performance of applications running over wide-area networks.
Second on the Texas Crescent Technology Fast 50 is Handango, Inc. of Hurst, with a growth rate of 6,343 percent over five years. Handango is a leading publisher and platform for mobile software reaching more than five million mobile users each month.
Third on the list is ZixCorp of Dallas with a growth rate of 5,799 percent over five years. ZixCorp provides solutions worldwide that protect, manage, and deliver sensitive electronic information. Postfuture of Richardson ranked fourth with a growth rate of 3,932 percent over five years. Postfuture is an email service provider offering a suite of tools for developing and strengthening online customer relationships.
Rounding out the top five is Rackspace Managed Hosting of San Antonio with a growth rate of 3,581 percent over five years. Rackspace offers a wide range of managed services for enterprise hosting platforms. The Texas Crescent Technology Fast 50 winners are as follows:

Winners are selected based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues from 1999 to 2003. To be considered, Fast 50 entrants must have met the following criteria: Have revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and at least $1,000,000 in 2003; be public or private companies headquartered in Texas (subsidiaries and divisions are not eligible unless they have some public ownership and are separately traded); be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify) and/or devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.
"Rising Stars"
A special category called "Rising Stars" recognizes the fastest growing technology companies based on revenue growth over three years (2001-2003). Eight were selected this year.
Number one ranked "Rising Star" SyChip, Inc. designs, develops and markets radio frequency integrated circuits and chip scale modules for the wireless mobile market. The company focuses on developing RF modules that are differentiated due to proprietary integration, modular architectures, and low loss silicon technologies.
